Softwood Plywood is plywood which has a face and back veneer of softwood as opposed to a hardwood such as Birch ,Maple ,Oak, etc. Softwood plywood panels are comprised of a core made from either softwood then faced and backed with a veneer of soft wood and therefore are used for structural applications.
The majority of MDF is mainly composed of softwood, although some brands may contain a higher percentage of temperate hardwood if this is locally available to the manufacturer. High levels of hardwood can be found in MDF board from outside the UK and Ireland.
Apart from the typical home constructions, softwood plywood is also used in a myriad of other projects from doghouses to skateboard ramps. In the workshop, it is utilized in building general purpose shelving and sawhorses.
Our Softwood Plywood is made from high quality softwood veneers. This product is suitable to be used in internal situations, and in structural applications. The face veneers will have the knot holes filled and sanded, to give a smooth finish , whilst thee reverse veneer will have open knot holes.
